Youth on the move
Youth on the Move – a group for all youth
We all know about the importance of having a positive attitude, but what about a “leadership attitude”? Just as anyone can choose to have a positive attitude, anyone can learn to have a leadership attitude. With a leadership attitude, youth leaders will take action to address matters that affect them. No need to sit around on the sidelines. Youth can learn about themselves while learning to lead.
Youth on the Move is a youth-led group that helps young people to develop a leadership attitude. Youth will meet monthly to discuss topics relevant to their everyday lives and will take action to make a difference in their communities. As a result, youth will:
· Feel more confident when engaging in public speaking
· Manage conflicts without engaging in violent acts
· Get better grades
· Do more extracurricular activities
· Like having others see them as part of the solution, not part of the problem
· Care more about doing positive things in their community
· Show more interest in continuing their education upon graduating from high school
